Final Report

           The NANOVOCOL project aimed to conjugate gold nanoparticles with an immunogenic antigen, to promote antigen processing and the involvement of the major histocompatibility complex by antigen-presenting cells. Customized pharmaceutical formulation through a specially designed capsule will be used to provide optimal intestinal delivery of the nano-bio-cellular vaccine.

         The results obtained support the potential prophylactic anti-tumor effect of the prototype, through the accumulation at the level of lymphoid structures (spleen, lymph node), through the long-term cantonation of the presence of the metallic component (gold nanoparticles) at the level of these structures, through the appearance of changes of the amyloidosis type at the tissue level and by the significant reactions, suggestive of immune stimulation, triggered after administration.

          Our data bring the prototype to a maturity level TLR 3, with potential for improvement and development of new technologies.
